…Charge Youths Not To Be Used By Unscrupulous Politicians As Cannon Folders In The Forthcoming Elections.

The Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) has expressed worry over the crisis and misunderstanding between the youths of Kaa community in Khana LGA – Ogoni and Ajakajak community in Andoni LGA recently.

While we commend the senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Barry Mpigi, the Khana Council Chairman and security agencies led by the galant DPO of Bori Police State – SP Angbanshim Bako for their prompt intervention and peace move into the needless brawl. We wish to state that we are in talks with the leaders of Andoni youths to seek ways to forestall future occurence of this avoidable debacle.

We urge the two communities to immediately cease all hostilities and embrace love, tolerance and live peacefully with one another as they have always done since remembered time.

Presidential and national assembly elections will take place this Saturday, and we wish to use this medium to strong caution Ogoni youth to be vigilant and not to allow unscrupulous politicians to use them as cannon folders.

We had earlier met and gave direction to the youth of Ogoni regarding the forthcoming elections, so we urge them to vote in accordance with our agreement in the February 25th and March 11 elections, respectively.

We call on politicians to play by the rules of the game.

Bee Ogoni Naa Lee Peh!

Signed:

Chief Legborsi Yamaabana
President-General, Ogoni Youth Federation
Chairman, Rivers State Youth Leaders Coalition
