Bolstered by the ultimatum given by Ogoni Youths which is billed to expire in two days (April 1st, 2022), the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Akpabio Godswill has transferred the construction of the entire stretch of the East-West road to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
In a handover ceremony held in the conference room of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Senator Akpabio stressed that the handover was in accordance with the Presidential directive, he advised the Minister of Works to pay more attention to the Ogoni section of the East-West Road.
The President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation, Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana, who was present at the event, urged the Ministry of Works and Housing to immediately mobilize contractors to site with a view to completing and delivering the road project within the lifespan of the current administration as promised by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to advert imminent protest from the youths.
