President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation, Engr. Legborsi Yamaabana bags National Union of Ogoni Students’ award

The National Union of Ogoni Students (NUOS) has conferred an award of Excellence on the President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation, Engr. (Comr) Legborsi Yamaabana in recognition of his relentless contribution towards the growth and development of youth and student unionism in Nigeria.

The award was presented at the National Union of Ogoni Students (NUOS) Ignatius Ajuru University of Education summit with the theme: Restoring the ancient landmark of education in Ogoni.

In his acceptance speech, the President-General thanked the Ogoni students for finding him worthy of the recognition. He commended Hon. Johnson Kenneth, one of the award recipient, who gave master degree scholarship to an Ogoni born best graduating student of the institution. He urged Ogoni politicians to emulate Hon. Johnson Kenneth by paying bursaries and scholarships, so as to support the students in their academic pursuits.

Yamaabana hinted that in the coming weeks, the Ogoni Youth Federation shall embark on Free Capacity Building and Vocational Skills Acquisition for Ogoni youths. He nevertheless, promised to bequeath 15 training slots to the National Union of Ogoni Students (NUOS). He said “It is our conviction that our youths will be less exposed to societal vices if they are meaningfully engaged and can fend for themselves”.

The Ogoni Youth boss who was among other recipients (Hon. Johnson Kenneth, Hon. Comrade Mon Ledibabari, etc) conferred with the prestigious leadership excellent award was described by the Students’ Union as an embodiment of selfless service worthy of emulation.
